This depends a lot on what your goals are. A good tricep workout program is individually made for everyone’s goals. Although the exercises might be the same, you will find that the repetitions and the sets that you do will be much different. If you don’t have much time and you are looking to do workouts more efficiently then you need to do your tricep work with other exercises. There are quite a few compound exercises that work your triceps but also work other parts of your body as well. These are very important as compound exercises are great for many reasons, they can help you to lose weight and they can also give you a more efficient workout and you will generally be able to lift a lot more weight with these. We will talk about them more in the next section but an example is the bench press. If you want to get bigger triceps and really target them then you should be doing more isolation work. This is important, as you need to fatigue your tricpes in order for them to grow. In this case you will also want to do a lot of repetitions, as you need to fatigue them. A lot of weight should still be lifted but the fact is if you are just doing one muscle then you are weaker.

Compound Exercises

These are exercises that use more muscles that just the tricep, of course some isolation exercises will use other mucles too but they will mostly focus on your tricep. In these you can move large amounts of weight and you will still be getting a lot of stress on this muscle group.

  • Dips
  • Tricep Pullover (also uses lats quite heavily)

Isolation Exercises

These will specifically target your triceps and are great if you want them to grow significantly.

  • Tricep pushup
  • Tricep Extension
  • Close Grip Pushups.
